Located on the island of O'ahu, Hawaii, it is no surprise that Bellows AFS provides an ideal location as an Armed Forces Recreation Center. Flight activity at the base was terminated in 1958 and now the location provides beachfront cabins, camping and condominium apartments for military personnel to utilize for rest and relaxation.
Bellows AFS is also used to conduct amphibious training activities for the USMC. The terrain provides very realistic training opportunities because it allows amphibious landings to transition directly into maneuver training. Bellows AFS is the only such location in Hawaii where this realistic training is possible.
