II MEF - Command Element

II Marine Expeditionary Force (II MEF), headquartered on Camp Lejeune, deploys and is employed as a Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) in support of Combatant Commander (CCDR) requirements for contingency response or Major Theater War. With appropriate augmentation, II MEF serves as the core element of a Joint Task Force (JTF); prepares and deploys combat ready MAGTF’s to support CCDR presence and crisis response; and supports service and CCDR initiatives as required.

Major subordinate units include 2d Marine Division, 2d Marine Aircraft Wing, 2d Marine Logistics Group, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit and 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
