If a Soldier is taking permissive TDY for house hunting, the leave form must be stamped and dated by the Housing Services Office before starting permissive TDY or the Soldier will be charged leave for that period. The HSO also offers:

Briefings on the local area
Reviews, clarifies or explains lease contracts
Mediation in disputes between tenants and landlords
Off-post rental housing inspections
Assurance of nondiscriminatory rental practices
A display of area maps
Computers, sales booklets and brochures
