The mission of the Fort Jackson MEPS is to process individuals for enlistment or induction into the armed services, based on DoD-approved peacetime and mobilization standards.

The MEPS is responsible for enlistments, testing (ASVAB), physical evaluations, medical evaluations, and processing.
