Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP)

The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory enrollment program per MCO P1754.4B. The aim of the program is to help monitors at Headquarters Marine Corps ensure consideration of family members with long-term medical needs (including physical and emotional) or any special education needs of the Exceptional Family Member in the assignment process. The family member must be enrolled in DEERS/MCTFS and reside with sponsor (exceptions include geographical bachelors and family members receiving inpatient care or living in an educational setting).
