NAS Key West operates a 12-lane small arms range that is capable of conducting qualification fire for all pistol (9mm) and 12-gauge shotgun courses of fire as outlined in OPNAVINST 3591.1.The range is authorized for use for the firing of 5.56mm M16 and other weapons/ammunition combinations that have maximum range distances less than that of the M16 (3400m).

fdimascioRecently I and another Officer of the Office of Naval Research completed Pistol, Rifle, and Shotgun qualification with members in this department. We wanted to reach out to commend the professionalism with which they conducted our shooting event and their flexibility in accommodating our need. While all of the personnel provided safe and effective coaching, we would like to particularly thank GM1 Roderick Johnson for his role in coordinating a schedule with us and the instruction he provided.
