The Dental Department at NAS Oceana provides state of the art, safe Dental care to all active duty personnel of the 23 tenant commands and 22 squadrons on NAS Oceana. General Dentistry, Dental Hygiene and some specialty services are available within the facility. Patient requiring Specialties not supported in the Oceana Triad will be referred to NMCP and/or Naval Station Norfolk, formerly known as Sewell's Point/NOB.

All PHA/Annual Dental Exams/Flight Physicals/Overseas Screening visits are by appointment.

Emergency/sickcall visits(toothaches) will be screened daily, 0700-1000 Monday-Friday.

Traumatic injuries involving the dentition and occurring during the work day will be seen any time during open business hours.

Service Personnel are encouraged to utilize the Family Member Dental Program for their family members.

Weekend, Holidays, and after working hours - go immediately to Dental at Norfolk Naval Station (Sewell's Point Dental), Bldg CD3, 1647 Admiral Taussig Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23511 Duty Phone: (757) 953-8530. There is a Dental Duty Team on cell call, 24/7.
Qualifications for Treatment: Active Duty patients in DEERS. Reservists for exams only unless active duty for more the 30 days in a row. Family Members seeking exams for overseas qualification.

Prescribed Uniform for Appointment: Service Khaki or Navy Working Uniform (NWU). No civilian or PT gear unless in a leave status.

Services Rendered: General Dentistry, Dental Exams, Radiographs, Fillings, Endodontics (root canals), Periodontics (gums and bone), Prosthodontics (crown and bridge) and Exodontics (extractions).

Making an Appointment: Arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled appointment time. Bring a list of all medications, including over the counter type. Children should not accompany patients to the clinic unless another person is available to care for them.

  1. Do not call the Dental Director’s number. He is the Department Head. Very nice doctor, 5 out of 5 but he’s way to busy taking calls that the front desk should take.
