Occupying the historic Del Monte Hotel and Resort - a national historic site dating back to 1878 - Navy Gateway Inns & Suites Monterey is rich in tradition and offers hospitality to a host of guests and distinguished visitors. Navy Gateway Inns & Suites Monterey is the only military lodging facility located on the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School grounds, and the only NGIS facility with an MWR café, restaurant, and bar on-site.

croc01My wife and I stayed at the Navy Inn, which is the historic Del Monte Hotel. Built in 1880, the hotel was billed as âThe Most Elegant Seaside Resort in the world. Its connection to Monterey and elegant history provides interesting reading and is easily found on the internet. We got a standard room and it was very comfortable. Queen bed was good. We will upgrade to a suite, if available, for our next visit. Beautiful wide hall ways, large room, free internet, a cafeteria in the hotel all made this a favorite. I will provide photos when I visit next.
